Beacon Bible Widget · Effective 16 Sept 2026

1. Who we are

Beacon Bible Widget (“Beacon”, “the app”) is published by FaithApp ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

2. The short version

Beacon does not track what you read. It has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own. The Bible ships inside the app, so showing your daily verse involves no network request at all.

A few small things are stored on your device and nowhere else. Two companies receive limited information: RevenueCat, which checks whether you have Premium and handles purchases, and Google AdMob, which shows advertising only if you are not a subscriber and only after you have agreed where agreement is required. Both are named in section 5, and neither is ever told what you read.

3. What Beacon stores on your device

All of it stays in the app’s private storage on your phone. None of it is uploaded, synchronised or backed up to us, because there is nowhere for it to go.

WhatWhy
Your widget settings — translation, background, text size, alignment, delivery time, reminder and notification preferencesSo the widget looks and behaves the way you set it
The week of verses planned ahead — a date, a book, chapter and verse number, and which translation it was chosen inSo the widget keeps working without a network
A note of when the widget last refreshed — a timestamp and a countSo the app can tell you whether the widget is current
Your streak — a number of consecutive days, and the date of the most recent oneTo show the streak
A photograph, only if you choose one as a backgroundTo draw it behind the verse. It is copied into the app’s own storage and never sent anywhere

The streak is two numbers, not a diary. It records how many days in a row and the date of the last one. It cannot be used to reconstruct which days you opened Beacon, because those days were never written down.

Verse text is not stored in any of this. The planned week records where a verse is in the Bible, not what it says.

4. What Beacon never collects

Not “does not currently expose” and not “does not transmit” — there is no field, no file and no code path for any of the following:

  • Which verse was shown on any date, or that any verse was shown at all
  • Whether you opened, shared or read a verse, and how long you spent
  • Highlights, notes, bookmarks, prayers or journal entries — Beacon has no such features
  • Your name, email address, password, date of birth or gender
  • Any account. Beacon has none and never asks you to sign in
  • Your location. The app requests no location permission
  • Your contacts, calendar, microphone, or any photo beyond one you pick
  • Any advertising or analytics profile built by us
  • Any device identifier of our own making

5. What leaves your device, and to whom

5.1 RevenueCat — purchases

When Beacon starts, and when it returns to the foreground, it asks RevenueCat, Inc. whether you have Premium, so that subscribers are never shown advertising. RevenueCat also manages subscriptions and one-time purchases on our behalf. It receives an anonymous identifier that RevenueCat itself generates, basic technical information needed to answer the request (such as the app version and your device’s platform), and — if you have made a purchase — your app store’s receipt and entitlement status.

We never send it a name, an email address, or anything about your reading, and Beacon does not create an identifier of its own to attach. Because there is no account, a purchase cannot be linked back to you by us. RevenueCat processes this under its own privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

5.2 Google AdMob — advertising

The free version of Beacon is supported by advertising. If you are not a subscriber, Beacon shows:

  • A banner at the bottom of the app, above the tab bar, separated from it by clear space.
  • An occasional full-screen advertisement when you leave certain screens — closing the chapter reader, leaving the Schedule screen, or leaving Customize. It never appears when the app opens, during setup, or in your first day of use, and at most once every five minutes.

No advertisement appears inside the home-screen widget, and none is drawn over the text of a verse. Subscribers see no advertising at all.

Before any ad is requested, and before the advertising SDK is started, Beacon uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent where consent is required. If you decline, or where the rules do not permit it, no ad request is made and the SDK is never initialised.

When ads are shown, Google may receive your device’s advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location may be inferred), information about the device and app, and your interactions with the advertisements. Google processes this under its own policies: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Google never receives verse text, a reference, your translation, your streak, or any Beacon setting. Advertising is limited to content suitable for a general audience. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices, shown wherever that option applies to you.

5.3 Your app store

Apple or Google process the purchase itself under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details.

5.4 That is the complete list

Beacon has no backend, no analytics provider, no attribution provider, and no crash reporting. There is no network request anywhere in the path that chooses and displays your verse.

6. Religion, and special-category data

Beacon is a Bible app, so we want to be precise here rather than reassuring.

What we can say plainly: Beacon does not record what you read, when you read it, or how often you opened a particular passage. There is no reading history in the app because there is no place to put one.

What we will not claim: that no information capable of suggesting a religious belief is involved at all. Installing a Bible app is itself an indication of interest; choosing a particular translation may suggest a tradition; a streak records how regularly you open a scripture app; and advertising identifiers, where you have consented to advertising, exist in an ecosystem we do not control. We keep all of this on your device and share none of it, but we are not going to tell you it does not exist.

Where EU or UK law applies and any of this is treated as special-category data, our basis for processing it is your explicit consent, given by choosing to use the app and, for advertising, through the consent request described in section 5.2. You can withdraw that consent by changing your ad choices, or by deleting your data or the app.

ProcessingBasis
Storing settings, planned verses, refresh notes and your streak on your deviceNecessary to provide the service you asked for (contract), and your consent where special-category rules apply
Checking Premium status and processing purchases through RevenueCatNecessary to provide the service (so subscribers receive what they paid for, including no advertising) and to perform purchases you request
Advertising identifiers to GoogleYour consent, which you may withdraw at any time

8. Your rights, and how to use them

Because Beacon has no account and holds nothing about you on a server, most rights are exercised directly on your device rather than by asking us.

  • Erasure. Settings → Delete my data erases your settings, planned verses, refresh history, streak, any photograph you chose, and anything the widget was holding. It happens immediately and does not require us. It does not cancel a subscription, because that lives with your app store — Beacon has no account to close. It also cannot erase information already held by Google (advertising) or RevenueCat (purchases); write to us and we will help you make that request to them.
  • Access and portability. Everything Beacon holds is listed in Settings → Exactly what is stored on this device, field by field.
  • Withdrawing advertising consent. Settings → Ad privacy choices.
  • Rectification, restriction, objection and complaint. Write to sevenstar.neeraj@gmail.com. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Deleting the app removes everything as well; there is no residue on a server because there is no server.

9. Children

Beacon is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. It is not intended for children under 13, and its advertising is not configured for child-directed audiences. Beacon itself collects nothing from anyone, of any age, beyond what section 3 describes — and none of that leaves the device. The third parties in section 5 receive only what that section describes.

10. Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who receives it, we will update the effective date and describe the change in the app’s release notes. Continuing to use Beacon after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Questions, requests or complaints: sevenstar.neeraj@gmail.com. Support is a plain email inbox — there is no chatbot and no automated ticket system, so a reply comes from a person.
