1. Agreement

These terms are between you and FaithApp. By downloading or using Beacon Bible Widget (“Beacon”) you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. What Beacon is

Beacon displays a daily Bible verse on your home screen and inside the app. The verse is selected by a fixed rule from translations bundled with the app.

Nothing in Beacon is generated by artificial intelligence. No verse, reference or passage is ever composed, paraphrased or predicted — every one is retrieved from a bundled translation exactly as published.

3. Free use and premium features

The daily verse, all bundled translations, and the widget are free, and we intend them to stay that way. Free use of Beacon is supported by advertising: a banner at the bottom of the app and an occasional full-screen advertisement between screens, never inside the widget and never over a verse. Premium is an optional purchase that changes how Beacon looks — additional backgrounds, typography, your own photograph as a background — and removes all advertising. Premium never affects whether you receive scripture.

4. Purchases, renewals and cancellation

• All purchases are made through Apple or Google, under their terms. We never receive your payment details.
• Prices are shown in the app exactly as your store reports them, in your own currency.
• Where a subscription offers a free trial, its length and what happens when it ends are shown before you buy. At present the weekly subscription may include a 3-day free trial and the yearly subscription a 7-day free trial; the store decides whether you are eligible. A Lifetime purchase has no trial.
• A free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends. Your store may require cancelling at least 24 hours before the end. Beacon can remind you before a trial ends if you turn that reminder on.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel in your store’s own subscription settings, reachable in one tap from Settings → Manage subscription.
• A Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew.
• Refunds are handled by your app store, under its policy. We cannot issue them, though we will help you reach the right place.

5. Scripture and other content

The translations bundled with Beacon are in the public domain. Beacon’s own software, artwork, wordmark and design are ours or licensed to us, and are not yours to copy or redistribute. Beacon’s backgrounds are designed colour gradients or a photograph you choose yourself; any photographic artwork we add in future will be licensed or commissioned, and none is machine-generated. Advertisements are supplied by Google and are not Beacon’s content.

You may share individual verses, including images Beacon creates, freely and without asking.

6. Acceptable use

Please do not reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app, extract its bundled database for another product, or attempt to interfere with its operation or with other users’ devices.

7. Availability and changes

Beacon works without a network connection and stores nothing on a server, so there is little for us to take down. We may still change or discontinue features, and we may stop publishing the app. Where a change would remove something you have paid for, we will say so in the release notes.

8. Disclaimer

Beacon is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we make no warranties, express or implied, about the app’s fitness for a particular purpose, its uninterrupted operation, or the accuracy of any translation.

Beacon is not a substitute for pastoral, spiritual, medical, legal or financial advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Beacon. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim — which, for most people, is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Ending these terms

You may stop using Beacon at any time by deleting it; that ends these terms. We may end them if you breach section 6. Sections 5, 8 and 9 survive.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of India, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
